Changes to assessments in primary schools

The reception baseline assessment (RBA) will give us and schools a way to measure the progress of their pupils from reception to year 6.

The RBA will be piloted in autumn 2019 with volunteer schools.

The RBA is scheduled to become a statutory requirement for schools from September 2020.

There is a commitment to ensure that all schools in all areas can access support, collaboration and best practice by ensuring full coverage of system leaders across the country.
